The graphics cards are kack… Go for high end 7xxx series such as the 7900GT or GS if you’re a little short on cash… If you’ve got money to burn go for the 8800GTX OC edition, one of these will perform far better than 2 SLI’d 8600GT’s….

Check out this review, you might even want to buy yourself one of the 9xxx series cards… Nvidia are a little more expnsive than ati, and there is a reason for that… Nvidia are better…
If you’re going to SLI, you might want a bit more power, you don’t need it, but if you slap a 700W+ PSU in there you’ll have better performance. I use the Xilence 800W Gaming edition… Quad SLI capable… now I just need another two 7900GS’s, and a board that supports quad SLI… any offers?
Forget DX10 games anyway, the framerates on even the really high end systems for DX10 are appaling… Most games are still DX9.0c or earlier, and seeing as DX10′s so naff, you may as well stick with XP Pro SP3 for now, MOST games will perorm better under XP than vista… Vista Ultimate is a resource hog which will slow your games down noticeably compared to XP, around 10 – 30 frames per second… (apart form the few games that actually run better on vista, like FEAR…) ALthough I do have to say I find vista to be a better all round operating system than XP, faster (apart form in games), smarter, and more user friendly than any other version of windows…
4GB of ram on vista x86 (32bit) is brilliant on a 590 or higher chipset with SLI, the 32 bit OS still only recognises 2.7GB of Ram, the rest gets allocated to your graphics memory… If you get SLI ready memory it will blow you away in this sort of configuration… trust me on this… I know…
